The Economic Development Committee, is dedicated to equipping and empowering the communities served by the San Diego Alumnae Chapter with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve financial literacy, economic stability, and long-term financial independence.

To advance this mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. created Financial Fortitude, a comprehensive initiative designed to increase financial knowledge and promote sound financial decision-making. Through educational programs and community engagement, Financial Fortitude addresses key areas of personal finance, including budgeting, saving and investing, credit management, homeownership, entrepreneurship, wealth building, and strategies for achieving long-term financial security and freedom.

The San Diego Alumnae Chapter has partnered with Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson, California State Senator representing District 39 in her efforts to address food insecurity and health care needs within the community through the Annual Health Fair & Turkey Giveaway.
